After 33 years as a partner at Tiverton Psychological Services, Dr. Dorothy Brown is now operating her own practice in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. We have limited openings in person on Mondays and Saturdays and via telehealth during the week.

Individual Therapy
Dr. Brown sees individuals with anxiety and depressive disorders, adjustment and grief issues and trauma disorders. She currently sees adults of all ages and genders.
Children and Adolescent Specialty
Dr. Dorothy Brown specializes in helping children with developmental challenges and behavioral issues both in school and at home. She has extensive experience working within the school system. However, Dr. Dorothy Brown has clients of all ages.
Family Therapy
Family therapy includes couples therapy, dyads in a family (i.e. mother and daughter) and occasionally, an entire family is seen. Family therapy can help resolve old issues within the family such as setting appropriate boundaries between adults and children, unprocessed trauma and grief or adjustment issues to changes in the family.
In-person and remote options
Our office is conveniently located in Kings Grant, Portsmouth, RI and we take teletherapy during the week. Accepting most insurance options.
